The Power 10 Project empowers youth in South Africa through rowing by providing essential safety resources, fostering teamwork, and creating opportunities that extend beyond the boat.
The Power 10 Project is a charity organization dedicated to expanding safe access to rowing for young athletes in South Africa. Inspired by a personal connection to both Seattle and South Africa, we recognize the transformative impact rowing can have, building resilience, teamwork, and confidence that extend far beyond the water.
Yet for many athletes in underserved communities, critical resources are out of reach. Safety equipment like lifejackets and life preservers, essential in a sport where water conditions can change in an instant, is often unavailable. The Power 10 Project is committed to changing that reality by providing the tools and support needed for every child to participate safely.
Just as a power 10 can shift the momentum of a race, we believe collective effort can shift the course of a life. By uniting rowing communities across continents, we aim to ensure that no dream comes at the cost of safety, and that every young rower has the opportunity to thrive.
